Haile Plantation 


Haile Plantation is Gainesville’s oldest neighborhood, starting in 1912. The neighborhood is a semicircle of streets formed by the neighborhoods of Haile, Arlington, and Plantation. The neighborhood’s name comes from the large Haile Family plantation. Haile Plantation has a mixture of single family homes, duplexes, and some apartments.

Haile Plantation is one of Gainesville’s oldest neighborhoods. It is bordered by Interstate 75 on the west, Main Street on the north, and West University Avenue on the east. The neighborhood is within walking distance of the University of Florida and Santa Fe College, and is zoned to the Alachua County School District. Haile Plantation’s name comes from an old plantation that was on the Alachua River.

Haile Plantation homes have a unique character that is hard to find in other communities. The homes here were built in the early 1900’s and were designed with beautiful home features: hardwood floors, high ceilings, crown molding and pocket doors. The neighborhood is located between NW 35th St and NW 34th St, and between NW 34th and the Santa Fe River.
