Kanapaha Botanical Gardens 

 

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is an educational facility that offers tours of its facilities, including the butterfly house, Orchid House, and Native Plant Garden. The Botanical Gardens are also home to 10 major garden areas and over 150 specialty gardens. Additionally, the Gardens offer guided walks and classes.

With more than 400 acres of public gardens, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a hub for outdoor enthusiasts. Located south of Gainesville, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is part of the state’s park system. The gardens include 16 themed gardens, including a butterfly garden, a children’s garden, a rose garden, and a cactus garden. Since its establishment in 1951, Kanapaha has been the site of many weddings, gatherings, and community events. Its five acre lake is a popular place for fishing, boating, and swimming.

The Kapaha Botanical Gardens located in Gainesville, FL has an impressive collection of plants and flowers. Although it is not the largest botanical garden, the Kapaha Botanical Gardens is well landscaped and displays interesting examples of plants, trees and shrubs. The gardens are open 7 days a week from 8AM to 5PM.

This park has 1.6 acres of botanical gardens, featuring more than 1,000 plants that were donated and planted by the gardeners. The gardens feature native and exotic birds, butterflies and other insects, as well as six pools and waterfalls.

The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a colorful, vibrant garden of over 25 varieties of hibiscus. This tropical paradise houses over 800 hibiscus plants in over 150 varieties. You will be dazzled at the colorful array of blooms and the variety of colors. The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a three-acre botanical garden that was founded in 1999 as a way to honor Dr. and Mrs. J. Henry Kanapaha, who were instrumental in bringing tropical plants to the Gainesville area.

The Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a 6.5-acre botanical garden located in Gainesville Florida, USA. The garden contains over 3,000 species of plants from around the world. Plant types include: cactus, succulents, cycads, bromeliads, palms, epiphytes (air plants), and more. The garden features exhibits about specific flora, including a wetland, a large water garden, a bog, a woodland, an herb garden, and a fern house. The garden also has a butterfly garden.

Visitors are allowed to explore on their own or join a guided tour led by garden staff. Visitors will find walking paths, ponds, and benches throughout the gardens.
